How Sayved works
You say it or snap it, Sayved writes it down as a structured entry, keeps it on your phone, and answers questions about it months later. Four steps, none of them involving a form.

1. Capture: say it, snap it or type it
One round button floats over every screen. Tap it to choose voice, photo or typing. Hold it down and recording starts at once, which is the fastest route: press, talk, let go. The aim is a log entry in under ten seconds, because an entry that takes longer than that is the one that doesn't get made.
You never choose a category. You just say what happened: "Black coffee and a banana, about nine", "Ran 5 km, felt heavy", "Ibuprofen 400 for the back, second one today". For food you can point the camera at a plate, a nutrition label or a menu. For documents, such as a lab result or a prescription, you can pick every page at once and they are saved together as one entry.
Not sure what it will do with something unusual? See the getting started guide for the gestures, or the in-app Tips screen, which lists every one of them.
2. Structure: what it turns your words into
Sayved reads the sentence or photo and fills in the fields a record needs: what, how much, when, and for numbers a value with a range and a confidence. A plate of pasta might be stored as roughly 650 kcal, range 500 to 800, with protein, carbs and fat alongside. The range is the honest part. An estimate from a photo is an estimate, so Sayved aims to be consistent from one plate to the next rather than pretending to be exact. You can edit any number, and your correction is stored separately from the original reading, so nothing is lost.
If it is unsure, it saves the entry anyway at low confidence. It never stops you to ask a question, because blocking a capture is how logs get abandoned. Ratings such as pain, mood or hunger use one 0 to 10 scale, where the number means how much of the named thing there is. If you say "mood was good", it records a number and shows you the phrase it read it from.
3. Keep: your log lives on your phone
Entries are stored in a database on your phone. There is no account, no name and no email. Each person you add (a child, a parent, a partner) gets a separate log file of their own, so nothing can leak from one profile into another. Reports, charts, search and the doctor report all read from that local log. See the privacy page for the exact details.
An honest note about the network
Sayved is not a fully offline app, and we would rather say so than imply it. Here is exactly what happens:
- Voice is turned into text on your phone. The audio is never uploaded. Only the resulting text is sent to be read into fields.
- Photos are downscaled on your phone first, and that smaller copy is sent for reading. The original stays on your phone.
- The text or image goes to an AI model with no name, email or account attached, and nothing is kept on our servers afterwards.
- A random device code, which is tied to no person, is sent so daily fair-use limits can be counted.
Without a connection you can still open your log, search it, view charts and export. New entries save immediately and get their details when the phone is next online.
4. Ask: questions answered from your own entries
The Ask tab takes plain questions. "What was I taking the last time this rash came back?" "How many nights did I sleep under six hours in March?" "When did I last have the ibuprofen?" It answers from your entries only, and only the rows needed to answer are sent, never your whole history. It never volunteers patterns or tells you what it thinks is a trigger. It answers when you ask, and stays quiet otherwise. More on this in Ask your health history.
When an appointment comes up, the doctor report turns the same log into a dated printable summary for one person, chosen categories and a date range. See the doctor visit report.
What happens after the free trial
You get 14 days free, then $2.99 a month. The reading of voice, photos and documents, and the Ask tab, are what the subscription pays for. Everything you already logged stays readable, searchable and exportable for free, forever. The full detail is on the pricing page.
Questions people ask
Do I have to pick a category?
No. Sayved infers the category from what you said or photographed. You can change it afterwards if it guessed wrong.
What if I have no signal?
The entry still saves on your phone. Reading it into structured fields needs a connection, so the details are filled in later, when you have one.
Can one sentence make several entries?
Yes. "Porridge for breakfast, then two paracetamol and a headache since eight" becomes a food entry, a medication entry and a symptom entry.
